LYRINX Signs With AVANTGARDE MUSIC

December 25, 2009

U.K.-based metallers LYRINX have inked a deal with Avantgarde Music. The band will enter the studio in the summer to begin recording its new album, "Restriction and Failure", for a late 2010 release.

"Restriction and Failure" track listing:

01. Without Memes I Am Nothing
02. Restriction And Failure
03. Hail Anti-Collectivism, Bringer Of Misery
04. Psychic Vampirism
05. Deconstruction Of Reality
06. There Is No Escaping The Logical Conclusion Of Existentialism

LYRINX describes its music as "nihilistic metal." "The band's percussion and vocals tend to be characteristic of black metal, and 'Nihilistic Purity' includes several tremolo guitar sections," according to the group's official bio. "Nonetheless, the band's most recent release, 'Ending the Circle of Life', features two long songs (in the range of 15-20 minutes),with a slower tempo and far more bass than is characteristic for black metal music. Lyrical themes are generally based around the philosophical position of nihilism and include in particular considerations of existential freedom, social dissatisfaction, social isolation, loss of hope, and suicide."
