Longtime ROADRUNNER A&R Man Talks About ROADRUNNER UNITED CD: Audio Available

October 21, 2005

Cleveland, Ohio's "The Metal Show" featured a special guest host for their October 9, 2005 show. Roadrunner Records Senior Director of A&R Monte Conner was guest DJ for the evening with show regular Chris Akin to celebrate 25 years of Roadrunner Records and the recent release of the ROADRUNNER UNITED collection. Conner picked all of the music played for the evening from Roadrunner artists past and present, as well as music from the ROADRUNNER UNITED CD. In addition to selecting the music, Conner shared nearly an hour's worth of stories about the history of Roadrunner Records, as well as the story behind ROADRUNNER UNITED. Download an MP3 of the show at this location (a whopping 101 MB!).

As previously reported, ROADRUNNER UNITED "The All-Star Sessions" is a collection of original tracks that are collaborations between numerous Roadrunner Records stars.

Four central musicians were originally chosen to produce and write the songs: Joey Jordison (SLIPKNOT),Dino Cazares (ex-FEAR FACTORY/BRUJERIA),Robert Flynn (MACHINE HEAD) and Matthew Heafy (TRIVIUM). These four musicians play on the songs they have written and have also assembled a unique team of artists to appear on each track. In order to cover as wide a spectrum as possible, no musician has played for more than one writer/producer and each song features a different vocalist.
