LINKIN PARK Singer Is New Father

March 17, 2006

The Associated Press is reporting that Chester Bennington of the Grammy-winning music group LINKIN PARK is a new father.

Bennington's wife, Talinda, gave birth in Los Angeles on Thursday to a 9-pound, 3-ounce boy named Tyler Lee, according to a statement from their publicist. Other details were not disclosed.

Bennington has two other sons, 10-year-old Jaime and 4-year-old Draven, from previous relationships.

LINKIN PARK announced last month that the band will record their third studio album with Rick Rubin, the world-famous producer known for his work with SYSTEM OF A DOWN, SLIPKNOT and the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, among many others.

LINKIN PARK are currently writing and demoing material for their new effort, the band's first full-length studio project since 2003's "Meteora".

Although Chester Bennington had announced plans earlier this year to work on his first solo album, the vocalist told MTV.com that he has delayed that project until 2007 or later to work on the new LINKIN PARK disc.

Last month, LINKIN PARK and rapper Jay-Z shared a Grammy Award for best rap/sung collaboration for "Numb/Encore".

The group has sold more than 36 million records worldwide.
