LEGION OF THE DAMNED 'Working Hard' On New Material

February 2, 2008

Dutch thrashers LEGION OF THE DAMNED have issued the following update:

"It's snowing outside right now, which brings no good feelings towards next week shows we are going to do in Finland, haha. It's probably fucking freezing there. But seriously, we are looking forward to play Finland and we can't wait. It's been months ago we've been onstage, and Finland will be the first to see our saved anger and rage unleashed. They can expect the BEST songs out of the LEGION trilogy: 'Malevolent Rapture', 'Sons Of The Jackal' and, of course, 'Feel The Blade'.

"'Feel The Blade' has been released in January and it was a huge success, not only in Germany we entered the official album charts, but so did we in Finland, Norway and Austria! We wanna thank everybody outthere, promoters, journalists and above all fans to make this all happen! You KILL.

"But LEGION OF THE DAMNED is LEGION OF THE DAMNED, and that we decided not to play a lot this year and work on new material was a good decision. We are working very hard on new material and so far three songs are semi-ready. We even already know the album title, but in this stage we are not going to reveal anything, this shows that we are hungry and still have a lot of aggression inside to make absolute killer songs!!

"Expect LEGION OF THE DAMNED at its best and with songs that hit you right in the face even before you have heard more than two songs. Has LEGION OF THE DAMNED ever let you down with this?

"The new album, which will be released in 2009, will be our last for now and we will probably focus on a lot of shows.

"All I can say is that everyone out there should prepare his or her headbang skills, because the new album and concerts in 2009 will be a serious attack on your neck muscles."

"Feel the Blade", a reissue of LEGION OF THE DAMNED's "Elegy for the Weak" CD (originally released under the band's previous moniker OCCULT),entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 70. Released on January 4, 2008 via Massacre Records, the new version of the LP contains two new songs that didn't appear on the original "Elegy for the Weak" album, a new cover and a bonus DVD.

LEGION OF THE DAMNED's video for the song "Disturbing the Dead" can be viewed below.

LEGION OF THE DAMNED's "Sons of the Jackal" album entered the German national album chart at position No. 54 back in January 2007. The follow-up to 2006's "Malevolent Rapture" was recorded at Stage One studio in Bühne, Germany with producer Andy Classen.
