LEGION OF THE DAMNED To Enter Studio In September

August 19, 2007

Dutch thrashers LEGION OF THE DAMNED (formerly OCCULT) have issued the following update:

"Nothing new has happened. Just came back from playing Bloodstock [Open Air] in the U.K. along with ARCH ENEMY, TESTAMENT, SABBAT and IN FLAMES. Was absolutely a fantastic experience, and to the U.K. fans: thank you so much! We had a blast and we hope to return to the UK soon!

"As said, nothing new has happened besides finishing up our two new songs for the upcoming 'Feel the Blade' release [a reissue of the 'Elegy for the Weak' CD originally issued under the band's previous moniker OCCULT]. Still need to finish the lyrics for those songs, so as soon as we got them, we will post the titles of the new tracks. We are also finishing up our 'Touring The Jackal' tour which started already back in March. Still three shows to go.

"November and December will be a rest for us, and some of us will go on vacation.

"We will keep you posted and updated as soon as we enter the studio with Andy Classen in September!"

LEGION OF THE DAMNED's upcoming "Feel the Blade" album will contain two new songs that didn't appear on the original "Elegy for the Weak" LP (which was released under the band's previous moniker OCCULT),a new cover and a bonus DVD. A January 2008 release via Massacre Records is expected.

LEGION OF THE DAMNED's "Sons of the Jackal" album will be issued in Japan, Taiwan and Korea via Spiritual Beast Records. An exact release date has not yet been announced.

"Sons of the Jackal" entered the German national album chart at position No. 54 back in January. The follow-up to 2006's "Malevolent Rapture" was recorded at Stage One studio in Bühne, Germany with producer Andy Classen.
