September 18, 2004

METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich accompanied girlfriend, Danish actress Connie Nielsen, to the world premiere of director Billie August's film "Return to Sender" at The Toronto International Film Festival Friday night (Sept. 17). Check out pictures from Wire Image.

According to a report published by the Canadian Press, Lars "looked every bit the rock star in faded jeans, a charcoal blazer and shades." The report added, "Ulrich kept to the sidelines for the most part, but he answered the calls of fans and dashed across the street from Roy Thomson Hall to sign autographs."

In "Return to Sender", Nielsen plays convicted child killer Charlotte Cory who gets involved with Frank Nitzche (played by Aidan Quinn),a former lawyer who makes money selling the final letters of executed prisoners.

In other news, Lars and Connie were among the stars on hand for the Calvin Klein Spring 2005 show at Olympus Fashion Week on Tuesday (Sept. 14) at Milk Studios in New York City. Check out pictures from Wire Image, Globe Photos and LFI.
