LACUNA COIL To Perform In India For First Time

October 22, 2010

Vocalist Cristina Scabbia of the Italian rock/metal act LACUNA COIL spoke to the Hindustan Times about the band's first-ever appearance in India as part of this weekend's (October 22-24) Kingfisher Premium The Great Indian October Fest in Bangalore.

"It is a whole new experience," she said. "We have heard a lot about the traditional music, the food and the spiritual nature of India. Whatever we know about the country is from television and people who have visited India."

Scabbia said that the fact that LACUNA COIL even had an audience in India came as a huge surprise to the band.

"To be honest, we were really shocked to know people here have an idea of gothic metal, let alone have heard of us," she said. "But we met some of the talent here and are hopeful of coming back here for a country-wide tour after we finish work on our forthcoming album."
