LABRAT Drummer Undergoes Surgery, Band Cancel Shows

LABRAT were forced to cancel two of their recent shows with AKERCOCKE and SIKTH after drummer Nathan Perrier was rushed to Naas General Hospital in County Kildare, Southern Ireland for emergency surgery, according to Rock Sound magazine.

Perrier reportedly underwent a three-hour operation to remove part of his lower intestine, which had become wedged through a split in his stomach lining.

Nathan is now back in the UK after spending five days in Naas General but has been instructed to rest for a minimum of two months before attempting any kind of drumming.

Due to the serious nature of the surgery, LABRAT have had to postpone any plans to go into the studio until Perrier has made a complete recovery.

Bassist Adam Sagir made the following statement on behalf of Nathan and the band:

"We can not begin to convey how absolutely gutted we were (and still are) at having to cancel our appearances alongside SIKTH and AKERCOCKE in Dublin and Belfast over the weekend. Nathan was rushed to hospital on Friday afternoon after experiencing severe pain, was diagnosed with Necro-Intesto (very metal) and went into emergency surgery for a hernia operation that evening. This left us no choice but to cancel the remaining dates. We promise to come back to give you the ear-raping you deserve as soon as possible, and would like to thank our brothers in AKERCOCKE and SIKTH for playing longer sets — both bands played a blinder both nights, respect to you mandrills! Nathan, who is currently recovering at home, would also like to thank the staff at Naas General Hospital for taking great care of him, not to mention supplying him with diazepam, which is extremely hard to come by in England."
