KURT COBAIN's Diaries To Be Published In November

July 26, 2002

The late NIRVANA singer Kurt Cobain's diaries will go on sale on November 11th.

As previously reported, Cobain kept extensive diaries during his youth and time in NIRVANA, totaling 23 books and 800 pages. Riverhead Books, a division of Penguin Putnam, are to publish the replica of the diaries under the title Kurt Cobain: The Journals.

Editorial director Julie Grau told Billboard: "It's a replica of his notebook pages. We have excised any thought of editorial intrusion. This is pure, unadulterated, Kurt Cobain."

Some fans will have already read some of the diaries. Last year, Courtney Love gave author Charles R Cross access to them as part of his research for a biography of the late NIRVANA star, titled Heavier Than Heaven: A Biography of Kurt Cobain.
