KORN To Record 'Unplugged' Set At MTV Studios Tomorrow

December 8, 2006

According to the Brazilian EMI Music web site, KORN will perform an acoustic set tomorrow (Saturday, December 9) at the MTV studios in the heart of New York City (Times Square). This will mark KORN's second-ever televised acoustic performance, following the band's appearance on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in July.

The show — which will be broadcast in America, Europe and Asia — is expected to air sometime in February 2007 via all MTV-related channels, including MTV.com. The exclusive acoustic set will have participation of other big-name artists, including members of the group THE CURE, LINKIN PARK vocalist Chester Bennington and Amy Lee, lead singer of EVANESCENCE.

The CD "MTV Unplugged: Korn", produced and directed by Alex Coletti, will hit stores on Tuesday, February 20, 2007.

KORN began writing its eighth studio album on October 2. Davis said in earlier interviews that he and guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer had both been writing new material while on the road in support of the band's last album, "See You on the Other Side".

Davis recently told Launch that he is considering going on his first solo tour sometime in the next few months, after the band finishes recording its new CD.

KORN released an expanded edition of "See You on the Other Side" on September 26, featuring a remix EP, cuts from the band's acoustic AOL Music session, live tracks, a bonus DVD and alternate artwork.

A CD/DVD of the band's recently completed Family Values Tour is expected out at the end of the month.
