KORN, SHINEDOWN, Others To Rock Memphis

March 19, 2009

According to The Pulse of Radio, KORN and SHINEDOWN lead the lineup for the 2009 Beale Street Music Festival, scheduled for May 1-3 in Memphis, Tennessee. Joining them as part of the bill's modern rock contigent will be RISE AGAINST, 311, HINDER, FALL OUT BOY and THEORY OF A DEADMAN, while the lineup will also feature KATY PERRY, AL GREEN, GEORGE CLINTON & PARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC, SNOOP DOGG, JAMES TAYLOR, ELVIS COSTELLO and others.

KORN is playing a number of festival shows here and abroad this spring and summer, and singer Jonathan Davis told The Pulse of Radio why he likes doing them. "I really like the destination festivals," he said. "I mean, they've got tons of them in Europe, they do extremely well. It's so expensive and so much goes into bringing a festival on the road, taking it from city to city, 'cause we've done it with Family Values. It seems like it's better just to put this big festival (on),book a whole bunch of bands and have people come to you."

KORN will also play Ohio's Rock On The Range festival on May 16 after hitting the Memphis event on May 2.

The group plays for the first time ever in Malaysia on Saturday (March 21) and will spend much of the summer in Europe.

KORN bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu just published a memoir titled "Got The Life: My Journey Of Addiction, Faith, Recovery and Korn" last week.

KORN will begin work on its first new album since 2007 later in the year.
