KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Singer Comments On ROCKSTAR ENERGY MAYHEM FESTIVAL

April 7, 2009

Massachusetts metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have been "officially" added to this summer's Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival tour. The quintet, which recently put the finishing touches on its yet-to-be-titled new album (due out in June) joins a bill topped by hard music monoliths MARILYN MANSON and SLAYER, and featuring fellow main-stage act BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE. The much-buzzed-about road show kicks off July 10 at the Sleep Train Pavilion in Sacramento, California and will storm through 26 cities in the U.S. and Canada. Tickets will be available on Friday, April 10 at www.mayhemfest.com via a limited-time pre-sale. Pre-sale tickets will feature a custom-made limited-edition design, and will allow fans to enter the venue early. In addition, all pre-sale ticket buyers will be entered to win an exclusive Mayhem festival drumkit from Tama drums. Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning April 24. For specific on sale dates and additional ticketing information, visit www.livenation.com.

"There are so many great bands on this tour," says KILLSWITCH lead singer Howard Jones. "Being able to share the stage with BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, SLAYER and MARILYN MANSON will make for a good time for everyone within earshot — and eyesight — of the stage. See you there — and drink plenty of water because you will sweat...a lot. It's gonna be a crazy summer."

The Jägermeister stage will feature TRIVIUM, ALL THAT REMAINS, GOD FORBID and the Jägermeister Battle of the Bands winner; the Hot Topic stage will feature extreme metal bands CANNIBAL CORPSE, JOB FOR A COWBOY, BEHEMOTH, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and WHITECHAPEL. The World's Greatest Freestyle Motocross team METAL MULISHA will also be revving up the crowd with their unique style of death-defying motorcycle stunts on all dates.

The festival billing is as follows:

The Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival is the brainchild of Kevin Lyman, John Reese and CAA's Darryl Eaton, the creative team behind some of the industry's most successful road jaunts, including the long-running Vans Warped Tour and the worldwide Rockstar Taste of Chaos Tour.
