KEVIN DUBROW: May 2007 Audio Interview Posted Online

Dwyer & Michaels — who host a morning show on 97X in Davenport, IA and KRNA in Cedar Rapids, IA — have uploaded an audio interview they conducted on May 30, 2007 with QUIET RIOT singer Kevin DuBrow. During the chat, Kevin was asked how he managed to keep his voice in shape after all these years of singing so aggressively. He replied, "I don't smoke. I take pretty good care of myself. I mean, it's not exactly like it's brain surgery or it's like you have to worry about any hip replacements. I mean, it's not that difficult to do, really. If you listen to it, it sounds a little rougher on the throat than it really is."

On whether he used to take care of his voice during the band's early years, DuBrow stated, "Oh, no, back then I was a bad boy. I mean, we used to stay up all night doing everything we could possibly get our hands on. Basically, I was 28 then, and my body would stand up to anything. I wouldn't be acting that way now if I had a choice. I mean, it would kill me and I would look terrible and sound terrible. When people come to see a band like QUIET RIOT, which is a blast from the past — I mean, a lot of people come to see because of 'Cum on Feel the Noize', 'Bang Your Head'; they wanna have a good time, just like in the Eighties — we don't wanna disappoint them."

According to The Associated Press, a neighbor summoned police and paramedics Sunday (November 25) to a home where the 52-year-old Dubrow was pronounced dead at 5:20 p.m., police and coroner's officials said.

There was no forced entry at the house, and no suspicious circumstances were reported, police Officer Jose Montoya said.

The cause and manner of death were not immediately known, pending an autopsy and toxicology results, Clark County coroner's spokeswoman Samantha Charles said.
