KATAKLYSM To Enter Studio In November

July 15, 2003

Canadian death metallers KATAKLYSM will enter Studio Victor in Montreal in November to begin recording their new album, "Serenity In Fire", for an early 2004 release through Nuclear Blast Records. The album will be produced by KATAKLYSM guitarist Jean-Francois Dagenais (MISERY INDEX, MALEVOLENT CREATION) and will be mixed at Wildsound studio in St-Zenon, Quebec.

KATAKLYSM recently renewed their contract with Nuclear Blast Records for three more albums following the release of the upcoming "Serenity In Fire" CD. Dagenais comments: "Nuclear Blast discovered KATAKLYSM, they've built this band, they also believed in us when it mattered the most. The last five years with them have been great and we look forward to a bright future ahead. In my opinion, they are the best label out there at the moment, they've given us a great new deal and were very happy to stay home!"

Upcoming KATAKLYSM tour dates:

Aug. 02 - Wacken open air – Wacken, GER
Aug. 04 - Mundo-Zottengem – BEL (w/ MALEVOLENT CREATION)
Aug. 07 - Brutal Assault Fest - CZR
Aug. 09 – Party.San Open Air – Bad Berka, GER

On their way back from Europe, KATAKLYSM will embark on a full-scale Canadian tour that will start August 15 in Ontario. The band will make a stop at the Las Vegas Metalfest on August 31 and then continue with more U.S. dates until October. Exact dates and venues will be announced shortly.

In other news, KATAKLYSM have landed the theme song for a feature horror film, "Female Flesh Eaters", by SVBI Films in conjunction with Texas FX ("Snake Eyes", "The Living Dead II", "The Arrival"). A video clip for the track is in the planning stages.
