Contraband Candy's René Ackermann conducted an interview with drummer Max Duhamel of Canadian extreme metallers KATAKLYSM at this year's Metalcamp festival, which was held on July 2-8, 2009 in Tolmin, Slovenia. Watch the chat below.

KATAKLYSM will embark on a European headlining tour in January 2010. Support on the trek will come from BELPHEGOR, DARKEST HOUR, SUICIDAL ANGELS and RESISTANCE.

Commented KATAKLYSM frontman Maurizio Iacono: "We've decided to bring a cool and diverse lineup. The direct support will come from our friends in the Satanic Austrian horde BELPHEGOR, as well as our old touring buddies in DARKEST HOUR who will bring the shredding melodic edge. From Greece, we have upcoming thrash metal upstarts SUICIDAL ANGELS and our friends from Belgium, RESISTANCE will open up the party.

"We are really stoked for this tour! All the bands will bring the aggression and we will play some songs we never played before. Of course we'll be playing your favorite KATAKLYSM pit songs as well!

"We have some big surprises in store for 2010, so be ready!"

"Prevail", the most recent CD by KATAKLYSM, was honored in the "Album Of The Year" in the "Metal/Hardcore" category at the Quebec Indie Music Awards (GAMIQ),an awards show that recognizes achievements by Quebec independent artists. The event was held on Sunday, September 21, 2008 at the Corona Theatre in Montreal and was produced by the Quebec Independent Music Association, which is also behind the Montreal International Music Initiative (MIMI).
