KATAKLYSM Frontman Checks In From The Road

December 13, 2008

Vocalist Maurizio Iacono of Canadian death metallers KATAKLYSM has issued the following update from the band's current European tour with MORBID ANGEL, MARDUK, KEEP OF KALESSIN and ARSIS:

"We are more than half way done at this point. Today we are in beautiful Vienna, Austria and having been here several times before, we are energized at the mere thought of what this concert will bring. The tour has been running fantastic; all the bands seem super happy. MORBID ANGEL have been down to earth and super-friendly to everyone on the tour and the fans (to me, this is what makes them real rock stars!). It's a pleasure to see them rip through the classics every night. Our old friends in MARDUK, KEEP OF KALESSIN and ARSIS are also dominating the stage and making this tour great. As for KATAKLYSM, what can I say?! Europe is Europe, and they always know how to treat bands here and the crowds have been killer and really behind us. Can't ask for more on our part, just happy to see metal alive and kicking in Europe. Couple more dates, then the holidays and looking forward to what 2009 brings."

Fan-filmed video footage of KATAKLYSM performing the song "In Shadows And Dust" on December 9, 2008 at Rolling Stone in Milan, Italy can be viewed below. Photos of the concert, which also included appearances by MARDUK and MORBID ANGEL, are available on the news blog Musica Metal.
