KATAKLYSM Fined By Canadian Government

May 13, 2004

KATAKLYSM have been fined the maximum penalty of $3,000 by the Canadian Immigration and Customs officials for merchandise sent from Europe to the U.S. via Canada. "The merchandise was some leftovers from the European tour," KATAKLYSM said in a statement. "Just a little under 100 shirts!! The Canadian customs are all screwed up at the moment it's not only fucking with U.S. bands, it's also fucking with its own bands. They basically fined us for no reason and the maximum amount possible, and their excuse was put into the Immigration's official words: 'We have to look after our own economy and if its at your expense, so be it.' The band will appeal the decision, but things don't look good. In other words, beware of Canadian customs because something is wrong."
