KATAKLYSM Cancel European Tour

April 30, 2004

Canadian death metallers KATAKLYSM have been forced to cancel their European tour with CROWBAR and their appearance at the With Full Force open air festival in Germany. According to an official press release from the group, the reason for the cancellation is the fact that "[vocalist] Maurizio [Iacono] and wife Meggin are expecting a little boy and the due date has been upgraded to mid July, making the tour and With Full Force too close for the birth date! The band apologizes to all their fans and inconvenience this might have caused... The band will be back in Europe in october for its first headlining tour of the old continent and promises to make it up. The U.S. tour starting May 1 will go ahead as planned, as will the Up From The Ground festival in Germany at the end of August.

Guitarist J-F Dagenais commented: "Hello everyone! We're finally back from Europe after our flight got cancelled not once but twice (!) and our luggage and equipement have still not arrived! They were still in Zurich last I heard but on its way... hopefully! Anyways, the tour was a major success for KATAKLYSM, the crowd roarrrred and we gave them the violence! Many thanks to all the crazy fans, the CANNIBAL guys and all the other bands that rocked, was a lot of fun!

"So now we are ready to embark on this US journey. The new songs rip live and we're looking forward to do it again on our side of the world this time. We know the competition is very heavy in May, there's a lot of tours going on. We are going up against a couple of them some nights and it's all good - we've always been the underdogs... which is cool because it makes us bite harder then the others!!

"See you guys on the road... Blood on the Swans!!"
