JIMI HENDRIX Court Battle Drags On

Mike Lewis of Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports: As the trial for control of the estate built on the music of Jimi Hendrix reaches its originally scheduled midpoint, the case appears nowhere near half over, with both sides mired in debate about the state of mind of a man who isn't alive to talk about it.

Experience Hendrix attorney Reed Wasson admitted under oath yesterday that the late Al Hendrix never specifically mentioned removing his grandchildren from the inheritance that is central to the legal dispute. But, he added, Al didn't need to talk about it.

Al's will, a document he negotiated with his estate attorney, was explanation enough when Al alone decided to leave certain people out, Wasson said.

"It was clear (whom Al wanted to exclude)."

In two days of testimony in King County Superior Court, Wasson outlined his work with Janie and Robert Hendrix, who ran Experience Hendrix, and the collection of companies, partnerships and trusts that make up the multimillion-dollar estate built on money earned from the music of the late Jimi Hendrix.
