JIMI HENDRIX Book Sparks Legal Battle

June 23, 2005

World Entertainment News Network is reporting that Jimi Hendrix is at the center of a legal battle — despite having died 35 years ago.

The guitar legend's former manager Edward Chalpin insists he has been libeled in a new book about the rocker, titled "Jimi Hendrix: The Man, The Magic, The Truth" and written by Sharon Lawrence.

Chalpin, who shared a stormy relationship with Hendrix, is suing publishers Macmillan for $180,000 for damages and is appealing for an injunction against repetition of the claims.
