JASON NEWSTED To Perform Rare PAPA WHEELIE Gig In San Francisco

August 17, 2002

PAPA WHEELIE, the "stoner punk metal" crew consisting of former METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted (a.k.a. Jaylor) on guitar/vocals, Steven Wiig (a.k.a. Swiiglor) on drums and Joe Ledesma (a.k.a. Joefus) on bass, will be the final band to play at Nadine's Wild Weekend on August 25th. The closing-night party will take place at San Francisco's Bottom of the Hill, located at 1233 17th Street.

Founded in 1998 by Nadine Condon — San Francisco's Godmother of Rock — Nadine's Wild Weekend is the Northern California music event devoted exclusively to regional music, the community and creativity in all its forms.

PAPA WHEELIE recently released their debut CD, Unipsycho, exclusively through Newsted's own Chophouse Records, and will be recording their follow-up on August 22nd at The Plant Recording Studios amongst friends and family. The as-yet-untitled CD is intended to be released on Halloween 2002.
