JASON NEWSTED, MIKE MUSHOK: The Chophouse Porch Jam

March 1, 2013

Video footage of guitarist Mike Mushok of Massachusetts rockers STAIND and former METALLICA/VOIVOD bassist Jason Newsted jamming together on the porch of Newsted's house in Walnut Creek, California on February 23 can be seen below.

"Metal", the debut EP from Jason's new project, dubbed simply NEWSTED, sold around 6,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 62 on The Billboard 200 chart.

"Metal" was released on January 8 exclusively via iTunes. The EP was made available as a physical CD on January 15.

STAIND issued a new concert DVD and Blu-ray, titled "Live From Mohegan Sun", in August 2012. The concert was recorded and filmed in high definition at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Montville, Connecticut on November 25, 2011, during STAIND's initial bout of touring for its self-titled seventh album.

Singer Aaron Lewis last year said that STAIND would go on hiatus after finishing its most recent touring commitments, but insisted that the group is not breaking up.
