JASON NEWSTED Interviewed On 101.5 KFLY's 'The Edge'; Audio Available

Carl Sundberg, the host of "The Edge" show, which airs on Eugene, Oregon's 101.5 KFLY radio station, recently conducted an interview with bassist Jason Newsted (VOIVOD, METALLICA, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM). The chat is now available for download in four parts:

Newsted was interviewed on the June 26, 2009 edition of the "Bone Metal Zone" show with host Nikki Blakk on the San Francisco radio station 107.7 FM. Jason talked about METALLICA, VOIVOD, ECHOBRAIN and brought in some of his own CDs to play, including those by SEPULTURA, MACHINE HEAD and THE SWORD.

Jason was inducted, along with the current members of METALLICA and the band's late bassist Cliff Burton, into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 4, 2009 in Cleveland, Ohio.

METALLICA played "Master Of Puppets" and "Enter Sandman" at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, with Newsted and his replacement, Robert Trujillo, both taking part in the performance (the group played as a five-piece). They also led a "surprise jam" at the end of the night consisting of "Train Kept A Rollin'", with RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS' Flea, LED ZEPPELIN's Jimmy Page, AEROSMITH's Joe Perry and Jeff Beck.

METALLICA was inducted by RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS bassist Flea.
