JANE'S ADDICTION To Go 'Hypersonic' In Early Summer

December 16, 2002

JANE'S ADDICTION are completing work on their new studio album, "Hypersonic", for an early summer release via Warner Bros. Records.

The CD, the band's first proper studio set since 1990's "Ritual de lo Habitual", is being produced by Bob Ezrin (KISS, PINK FLOYD, LOU REED) at Henson Recording (formerly known as A&M Studios) in Los Angeles.

"We have had an amazing time creating [our latest album] with our new friends of the JANE'S ADDICTION family, producer Bob Ezrin and his partner Brian Virtue," guitarist Dave Navarro wrote on the band's official web site. "Bob has a unique and most welcomed perspective in terms of getting the very best out of us as creators and players."

"I think that the combined energies of Bob, Brian, and all of us in JANE'S ADDICTION has made this time in the band's career the most comfortable and enjoyable it has ever been," Navarro continued. "We have never been happier, freer, and more unified."

JANE'S have also added a new bassist, with Chris Chaney (ALANIS MORISSETTE, ANDREW W.K.) taking over for the recently departed Martyn LeNoble, who had also previously played with frontman Perry Farrell in PORNO FOR PYROS. According to Navarro, "Chris has definitely stepped up to the plate and has been a key factor in helping us expand our creative vision and enthusiasm."

The group has also scheduled two West Coast dates for late December, to be followed by a previously announced stint on the Big Day Out tour of Australia and New Zealand.
