It's Official: JIMMY BAIN Exits DIO
DIO bassist Jimmy Bain has officially left the band, according to KNAC.com (originally reported here in January). No replacement has been named at the present time.
Ronnie James Dio commented, "Jimmy has chosen to follow his own career path, and we wish him well."
Ronnie, guitarist Craig Goldy and drummer Simon Wright will be entering the studio at the end of March to record the as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2002's "Killing The Dragon", tentatively due in the summer. A European tour will start in July 2004, to be followed by a U.S. tour in August.
As previously reported, Bain is believed to have formed a new project with drummer Vinny Appice (ex-BLACK SABBATH, DIO) and guitarist Carlos Cavazo (ex-QUIET RIOT). No further information is available at this time.
