IRON MAIDEN, SLAYER, PANTERA, VENOM and QUEEN were honored at this year's Kerrang! Awards, which was held earlier tonight (Thursday, June 13) at London, England's Troxy Club.

IRON MAIDEN picked up the "Inspiration Award" for the band's pioneering role in the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement, which emerged in the late 1970s.

Other winners on the night included BLACK VEIL BRIDES who walked away with the "Best Live Band" award, and BRING ME THE HORIZON, who were named "Best British Band."

SLAYER members Kerry King (guitar) and Tom Araya (bass, vocals) were on hand to accept the "Kerrang! Legend Award" in what was their first U.K. appearance since the death of founding SLAYER guitarist Jeff Hanneman.

Kerrang! magazine editor James McMahon said: "What a night. What a night. People lost shoes. People lost phones. More so, people lost dignity. I can't think of any better way the 20th Relentless Kerrang! Awards could have been celebrated. There's been so many reasons to be excited about being a rock fan already this year. I'm genuinely fearful what mayhem the 2014 Awards will bring."
