Ireland's FOR RUIN To Enter Studio In January

Ireland's FOR RUIN completed a ten-track pre-production demo of its as-yet-untitled second album in October. Writing duties were shared among the band this time around and some of the working song titles include "Deluge", "Solace", "Elysium" and "Recoil". Artwork for the album will be by Paul McCarroll who has previously worked with PRIMORDIAL, among others. The recording is scheduled to begin on January 1, 2009 in Cork with Alwyn Walker of Komodo Studios as the on-location producer for the album. Look for a release on Sentinel Records in mid-2009.

FOR RUIN's upcoming CD will be the first to feature bassist Pete Lawlor and original drummer Steve O'Connell, along with Drew Myers and John Murphy. The band says: "We have a few title ideas for the album that we're throwing about... The new album is full of the aggression and harmonies from before and will have a production to match the quality of the songs. There's two instrumental songs in there this time; one is in the vein of 'December' while the other is probably the fastest and most aggressive song we've written to date".

Having performed only two shows in 2008 (with PRIMORDIAL in Dublin and SKYFORGER in London),FOR RUIN has confirmed several live dates for early 2009, playing alongside PARADISE LOST and ROTTING CHRIST. Conifrmed dates are as follows:

March 13 - An Cruiscin Lán, Cork, Ireland
April 25 - Full Metal Racket, Belfast, Northern Ireland
