I AM I: 'Event Horizon' To Receive Physical Release In September

August 15, 2012

I AM I, the band featuring former DRAGONFORCE singer ZP Theart, will release its debut album, "Event Horizon", on CD and digital formats via Plastichead distribution on September 17 throughout Europe, coinciding with the album's arrival in Japan.

"Event Horizon" was previously available on USB memory stick from the official I AM I web site, and this particular format will continue to be available for purchase only from the band's homepage.

The CD and digital formats of "Event Horizon" will be available from HMV and all the usual record shops and digital outlets — iTunes, etc. —and can be pre-ordered from Amazon U.K., while the CD can be pre-ordered from Plastichead at this location.

Written and produced by Theart and Jacob Ziemba and mixed and mastered by Roland Grapow (HELLOWEEN, MASTERPLAN),"Event Horizon" is described in a press release as "an absolutely blistering slice of heavy rock liberally infused with Theart's passion, energy and soaring vocals."

Hayley Leggs of Total Rock Radio conducted an interview with I AM I at this year's edition of the Bloodstock Open Air festival, which was held August 9-12 at Catton Park, Derbyshire in the United Kingdom. You can now watch the chat below.

I AM I last month announced the addition of drummer Phil Martini (DOWN 'N' OUTZ, TOKYO DRAGONS, THE QUIREBOYS) to the group's ranks.

With things really starting to build momentum after the release of their debut album, "Event Horizon", the members of I AM I found themselves in need of a professional, talented drummer with the same desire, humour and passion for their music as they had, and it didn't take long before they found themselves the ideal man.

Following a chance meeting at a CLAYTOWN TROUPE gig, ZP and Phil found they got along famously and once Phil had heard the album, he was in!

As previously reported, I AM I recently signed a worldwide publishing deal through Sony/ATV Music. Their deal, via Albam Songs, means they join a roster that includes Bob Dylan, THE BEATLES, Robert Plant, PEARL JAM, BON JOVI and Lady Gaga.
