HIRAX To Release 'Thrash And Destroy' DVD

February 11, 2008

Veteran California thrashers HIRAX have issued the following update:

"We have begun pre-production for the new HIRAX album, 'El Rostro de la Muerte'. Songtitles to date include 'Baptized By Fire', 'Death Militia', 'Battle Of The North', and re-recorded versions of 'Blind Faith' and 'Broken Neck'.

"Expect more new songs and a lot of surprises. This will be our FASTEST and HEAVIEST album to date, with an emphasis on the technical playing, aggressive double bass drumming, and dual guitar attack! Massive guitar riffs, pounding bass guitar, the vocals — sharp, clear and up front!

The production will be top-notch with John Haddad back at the helm again. He also handled the duties for 'Assassins Of War' and 'Chaos And Brutality' EPs.

"There will be a new HIRAX DVD, 'Thrash And Destroy', including our entire performance at the Keep It True Festival IX [on] November 2007. Six-camera angle video shoot, high quality, professional audio and video. Wait til you see it!!!"

Fan-filmed video footage of HIRAX performing the song "Hostile Territory" on November 3, 2007 at the Keep It True IX festival in Dittigheim, Germany can be viewed below.

The California thrashers played two successful shows in September in Germany and France with new second lead guitarist Tim Thomas, formerly of STEEL PROPHET and AGENT STEEL, as well as returning drummer Fabricio Ravelli.

HIRAX's new EP, "Chaos and Brutality", was released in October throughout Europe on Poland's Selfmadegod Records. The four-song EP was recorded in February 2007 at Shiva Industries in California. It includes the title track along with a re-recorded version of "Walk with Death" from the band's 2001 EP "Barrage of Noise", the instrumental "100,000 Strong" and "Lucifer's Infierno Reprise", an arrangement which HIRAX recently revamped and plays live.

HIRAX's forthcoming album will feature artwork by Ed Repka, the undisputed king of thrash metal art. A 10-country European tour is also in the works for May 2008, including a headlining appearance at Long Live Metal!!! festival Chaptire 2 in Wattrelos, France.
