HIGH ON FIRE To Embark On North American Headlining Tour

January 5, 2006

HIGH ON FIRE are getting ready to kick off their "Blessed Black Wings Tour 2006" on January 18 in San Francisco, CA at 12 Galaxies. The tour will include special guest THE BRONX, BIG BUSINESS, and Relapse Records labelmates BURIED INSIDE.

HIGH ON FIRE spent most of 2005 touring as part of the The Sounds of The Underground Tour with LAMB OF GOD, supporting EVERY TIME I DIE, MASTODON and making several European festival appearances at Fury Fest, Roadburn, and an appearance at All Tomorrows Party on invitation from curators THE MARS VOLTA.

Commented HIGH ON FIRE drummer Des Kensel: "We're really looking forward to heading back out again on our own tour. After months of support slots and festival shows, the longer set length lets us work all our favorite HIGH ON FIRE material into one set. We're also going to be dusting off some tracks that people haven't seen us play for years. Those will have to remain a surprise for now though."

Kensel continues: "We put together the kind of show we'd like to see ourselves, and are psyched to slay with THE BRONX, BIG BUSINESS, and BURIED INSIDE. Come out, come early and prepare to be battered cuz these shows will kick ass."

HIGH ON FIRE's critically acclaimed new album, "Blessed Black Wings", has been named as one of the best releases of 2005 by venerable magazines and newspapers the world over, including Revolver, Decibel, CMJ, Chicago Tribune, Rock Sound, Kerrang!, Montreal Mirror, Terrorizer, Ottawa Citizen and many more.
