Singer, author, actor and monologist Henry Rollins will embark on his sixth USO tour to provide a morale boost to troops stationed in Egypt and Turkey Aug. 25-Sept. 1. Rollins will meet with service members, tour a variety of job posts and sign autographs. Rollins's past USO tour stops include Kuwait, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Qatar, Honduras, Japan, Korea and the United Arab Emirates. The Washington, D.C., native also has visited troops recuperating at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center.

Best known for his alternative rock/punk music, Rollins began his career with punk pioneers, BLACK FLAG. He toured and recorded with the group until they disbanded in 1986. The following year, he reappeared with the ROLLINS BAND, where he recorded several successful albums. In 1994, the ROLLINS BAND released "Weight", which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance for the song "Liar".

An accomplished spoken-word performer, Rollins earned a Grammy for the audio version of his book "Get in the Van". His speaking engagements, along with his band dates, have averaged more than one hundred shows annually for 25 years. He also ventured into acting with appearances on television and in several feature films, including "Bad Boyz II", "Jack Frost", "Johnny Mnemonic" and "Alibi".

Rollins founded his own recording and publishing company, and has released more than a dozen books, several CDs and DVDs. In February 2005, he released "Shock and Awe", a DVD where he discusses his eclectic life and his travels around the globe. Additionally, he hosts "Henry's Film Corner" on the Independent Film Channel.
