June 16, 2005

According to Australia's Undercover News, punk rock icon Henry Rollins will over the next few months release a new book, tour for troops in the South Pacific, star in a few movies and bring a few friends onto his television show.

Firstly, the USO tour is now underway. Rollins left for the South Pacific tour on Monday to perform for U.S. troops. It is his fifth USO tour in less than two years. His previous USO tours have included Afghanistan, Qatar, and Kyrgystan in late 2003; Iraq and Kuwait in May, 2004; Honduras in August, 2004; and Afghanistan in December, 2004. He will follow that up with an American tour later this year.

Rollins also has his own TV show called "Henry's Film Corner" on IFC TV. The show features conversations triggered by films past and present. His guest in July will be Rob Zombie. In August, he will welcome Billy Bob Thornton.

Henry the actor appears later this year in "The Alibi" with Steve Coogan and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, and has a lead role in the Project Greenlight feature "Feast", due out in January 2006.

In November, Rollins will publish his book "Roomanitarian". Beginning with a poem entitled "Walking the Chasm", proceeding into "Ended", the book features several short prose pieces reminiscent of his work in "Solipsist". It finishes with a series of mock love letters dubbed "To Ann Hitler with Love".

Rollins recently released a DVD, "Shock and Awe", shot in Seattle's Moore Theatre. On the DVD he recounts his first USO tour as well as giving an insight into his personal life and some political comments.
