HELLWITCH Completes Recording New Album

November 9, 2008

HELLWITCH, one of the oldest and most legendary extreme metal bands, has finished recording its long-awaited sophomore full-length album for an early 2009 release. The mixing sessions are scheduled to begin next week.

Commented the group: "We've been working hard on this for close to two months now and we couldn't be happier with the production on this. There's 10 songs and for those of you who are DEATH fans, we covered 'Infernal Death'! There is going to be a second release of that with Kam Lee [former DEATH vocalist] singing on it!"

Open Grave Records re-released HELLWITCH's classic album "Syzygial Miscreancy" in late 2007 as part of the Open Grave Records Underground Reissues series.

The original "Syzygial Miscreancy" was released in 1990 via Wild Rags Records, and was recorded at legendary Morrisound Studios with veteran producer Scott Burns.

HELLWITCH formed back in 1984 and released several demos and 7" EPs during the second half of the '80s before issuing a highly acclaimed debut album, "Syzygyal Miscreancy", in 1990 and a mini-CD, "Terraasymmetry", in 1992. They recorded a few more demos through the '90s until they finally completed their 2005 recording, "The Epitome of Disgrace", which led to an agreement with Xtreem Music.
