HELLHUNTER Featuring Ex-MERCENARY Guitarist: Bringing Metal Back To Its Roots

HELLHUNTER is a Bay Area blackened thrash outfit made up of seasoned metal veterans from the San Francisco metal scene. Formed in 2004, the band was created by front man Bruce Leevil and guitarist Godgore (a.k.a. Lawrence Of Carpathia). Their mission is to bring metal back to its roots and create a relentless style reminiscent of the NWOBHM-era bands like TANK and SATAN, as well as the heavier thrashier sounds of old CELTIC FROST, Baloff-era EXODUS and early DR. KNOW.

HELLHUNTER recruited Sven Soderlund (a.k.a. The Burzurkur; ex-HEATHEN, LAAZ ROCKIT, MORDRED, MERCENARY) to the lineup. Soderlund's influence has created a refined, contrasting edge to their satanic, barbaric song writing. Rounding off the lineup is bass player the Satanik Grizzly (a.k.a. Patches Bob) as well as skin pounder Skulldozer (a.k.a. Gary Smith; ex-EARWIGZ).

HELLHUNTER has created quite a stir in the San Francisco metal scene, crushing the local club scene and playing unique shows such as Karla LaVey's Halloween Party for the infamous First Satanic Church. Footage from the concert can be viewed below.

The band has released an official demo that is available through their MySpace page and is currently working on recording a full-length album, due in mid-2008. The band is currently unsigned.
