Heavy Metal Radio Promotion Company SKATEBOARD MARKETING Celebrates 15-Year Anniversary

October 23, 2006

Skateboard Marketing Ltd., the self-proclaimed "North America's premiere independent radio promotion company," has announced its 15th anniversary. The company, whose specialty is hard rock and heavy metal radio promotion was founded by former PolyGram Records radio promotion executive Munsey Ricci in 1991. Ricci created the first metal department for PolyGram Records in New York, thus filling a much needed gap for the company's ever-growing roster. He quickly established Skateboard Marketing Ltd., based on extreme music for indie, major and European labels who otherwise would not have has an outlet for North America's hungry music scene. "There is something more important than just getting a record played on the radio," states Munsey Ricci. "It's about the metal fan and all fans of music in general. Someone has to be there to for them and the bands, labels and management companies that would otherwise not have an outlet to expose their music."

The company has handled in the past fifteen years such legendary rock and metal heavyweights as BLACK SABBATH, METALLICA, PANTERA, KID ROCK, IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST, MORBID ANGEL and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, among countless others. The company continues to be the frontlines focusing on the aggressive edge of the musical spectrum.

Highlighting the company's fifteen years there will be a private showcase during this years 2006 CMJ Music Convention in New York. Talent will be announced next week. The event is a joint venture with Century Media Records, which also celebrates its 15th anniversary, and Victory Records in Chicago.
