Appice underwent surgery on his right shoulder on November 30, 2009 for an injury sustained during the last HEAVEN & HELL tour.

HEAVEN & HELL singer Ronnie James Dio was diagnosed with the early stages of stomach cancer in November, while the band's guitarist, Tony Iommi, recently underwent stem-cell treatment on an injured hand.

HEAVEN & HELL's debut album, "The Devil You Know", entered The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 8 with first-week sales of 30,000 units.

The band's June 16, 2009 concert at Museumsmeile in Bonn, Germany was professionally filmed by WDR's (German public TV) series "Rockpalast" and was premiered last July.
