HATEBREED Bassist Checks In From The Road

June 23, 2008

HATEBREED bassist Chris Beattie has posted another update to his official tour blog from the band's Jgermeister Music Tour with TYPE O NEGATIVE and 3 INCHES OF BLOOD. Read it at HardTimes.ca. An excerpt follows.

"We've been grinding it hard across the USA. Today will be the 18th show we've played in a row without a day off and we finally get somewhat of a break when we drive from Fargo, N. Dakota to Grand Rapids, Michigan tonight. I've been feeling like shit because of some cold I've had for 2 weeks so I'm kind of looking forward to the rest.

"The past couple of weeks have been pretty eventful. I went to four baseball games in five days with (HATEBREED, ex-RINGWORM, INTEGRITY, TERROR guitarist) Frank 3 Gun. We hit up the Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Royals, St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers games. We just barely dodged two fucking tornadoes in Omaha, NE (those kids are the hardest motherfuckers I've seen in a while) and in Kansas City.

"The Omaha show was some pretty serious shit. The whole show was down in the basement, which is also a bomb shelter, for a half an hour while outside wind, rain and lightning raged!!! Luckily a tornado didn't hit the club and the show was able to continue. Everyone ended up staying at the show regardless of the weather and we had a great set.

"The Midwest is pretty beat up right now. These people are having catastrophic storms and flooding which seems to be relentless. It's a lot different when you see these kinds of things first hand instead of CNN. There is real devastation going on in America right now and if you have a chance to help out you probably should."

HATEBREED enlisted Vinnie Paul Abbott (HELLYEAH, ex-PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN) to produce, document and record the band's May 27, 2008 concert in Dallas, Texas at the Palladium Ballroom. The resultant recording will be released as HATEBREED's live album, due before the end of the year.

HATEBREED recently signed a "multi-tiered, worldwide deal with KOCH Records. As part of the new deal, KOCH Records will release a series of highly anticipated future projects from the kings of hardcore metal. The first project under the new deal will be HATEBREED's first-ever live DVD, entitled "Live Dominance". The main DVD concert shoot took place at Harpo's in Detroit on Saturday, March 29, 2008 in front of a sold-out crowd. Directed by Kevin Custer, the DVD will also feature a collection of recent live shows from various tour stops in Germany, Philadelphia, New York City and New Haven, CT.
