HANOI ROCKS' Promo Stunt Creates Traffic Chaos: Photos Available

April 19, 2005

HANOI ROCKS were all over Finnish press and in the headline news this past weekend after 14,000 people came to see the band celebrate the release of their new album, "Another Hostile Takeover", by playing a free showcase last Friday (April 15) outside the Stockmann department store in Helsinki. The group performed on a stage right above the entrance to the department store, under the legendary Stockmann clock (probably the most famous meeting place in Helsinki). HANOI ROCKS played a 20-minute set of songs from the new album, and were scheduled to take part in an autograph-signing session in Stockmann's music department (in the basement); however, due to the size of the crowd, the autograph session was eventually cancelled. Check out photos of the scene outside the Stockmann department store: Photo#1, Photo#2. More pictures: Photo#3, Photo#4.

"Another Hostile Takeover" was released in Finland on March 30 via Major Leidén Productions. A U.S. release date for the album has yet to be announced.

"Another Hostile Takeover" is the group's first album to feature guitarist Conny Bloom (SILVERGINGER 5, ex-ELECTRIC BOYS),who joined the band last year.
