HALFORD Manager: PATRICK LACHMAN Didn't Get Along With Anyone On A Business Level

July 16, 2003

Rob Halford's personal manager John Baxter has reacted to former HALFORD guitarist Patrick Lachman's assertion that the group's management made the other members of the band feel expendable and replaceable and tried to keep distance between Rob and the other guys in HALFORD during Patrick's tenure in the group.

Writing to Rob's official forum, Baxter said, "Pat was an asset to the band. He had a role, just like the rest of us. He didn't get along with 'anyone' in the band on a business level, and that's what led to his departure. It simply wasn't comfortable for anyone — especially Rob.

"In 1999, I picked Pat from obscurity to join HALFORD. He was chosen to anchor the band up front along with Mike C., Ray R. and Rob. He also had an equal opportunity to introduce his musical ideas to the band. Some ideas stuck and many others didn't. But that was the case with all writers — we were after the best ideas, period.

"We have a clear [conscience] re: Pat, and again believe he was a great initial selection for one of the guitarist positions in Rob's band. We sincerely wish him the best."
