December 12, 2012

GWAR will perform at the second annual Cory Smoot Experiment, set to take place on January 18 at the Canal Club in Richmond, Virginia.

Commented the band: "It's time for the second annual Cory Smoot Experiment, where we gather to remember our dear friend and colleague, Cory Smoot, who passed away a little over a year ago. This year features a special no costumes version of GWAR — the mighty RAWG! We will be playing tons of stuff from our new album and who knows what else. Thanks to Eve for keeping it together, and remember all proceeds raised go to the Smoot Family Fund. Hail Flattus!"

Also scheduled to perform at the event are MENSREA (Cory Smoot's former band),US BRASS, POTTY MOUTH (former member of GREEN JELLY),APOCALYPSE DUDES (TURBONEGRO tribute band ) and SUPPRESSION (member of IRON REAGAN).

Tickets are $12 at the door, with the show starting at 6 p.m.

Smoot, a.k.a. Flattus Maximus, was found dead as GWAR was about to enter Canada on November 3, 2011. He was 34 years old. He has since been replaced by Pustulus Maximus (a.k.a. CANNABIS CORPSE/ANTIETAM 1862's Brent Purgason).
