GWAR Lead Singer Joins FULL METAL JACKIE's Radio Show As Weekly Contributor

GWAR lead singer Oderus Urungus has just landed himself yet another gig — this time as a weekly contributor to Full Metal Jackie's nationally syndicated radio show.

That's right kids, every week from now until the end of time (or at least until he gets kicked off), the biggest mouth in metal shall descend "as Zeus from Mt. Olympus" and deliver "The Metal Minute", an up-to-date and concise weekly reporting of the latest or at least most-revolting metal news.

"My position gives me access — I see things. And I make a bunch of shit up," said Oderus. "I especially love to embarrass and humiliate these rock stars with tales of frozen Snickers bars being wedged deeply into any number on semi-famous buttholes."

When asked why she would possibly want to have such a notorious metal malcontent on her show at all, much less every week, Jackie said, "Metal is about breaking society's 'rules.' GWAR is the ultimate satire of mainstream hypocrisy, and no one's better at pointing out that ridiculousness than Oderus. His verbal spew is full-on metal; it's absolutely perfect for Full Metal Jackie."

So be sure to catch the first episode of Full Metal Jackie with her new sidekick, GWAR's Oderus Urungus this weekend.

In other GWAR news, it has been confirmed that the Crack-a-thon will return this year on June 3 live from Alleykatz in Richmond, Virginia with hosts Oderus Urungus and Balsac the Jaws of Death. In addition to the Crack-a-thon, August 27 has been confirmed as the date for this year's GWAR-B-Q.

"Full Metal Jackie Radio" is two hours of fist-pounding metal, hosted by renowned metal radio personality Full Metal Jackie, featuring regular interviews with many of metal's biggest names, past and present.

Full Metal Jackie recently published her first book, "Full Metal Jackie Certified: The 50 Most Influential Heavy Metal Songs Of The '80s And The True Stories Behind Their Lyrics", which is online and available in stores now. You can also take Full Metal Jackie with you wherever you go, with the new Full Metal Jackie iPhone app available here.

Full Metal Jackie began her radio career as an on-air personality at WHTG (Neptune, NJ), and later at WDHA (Dover, NJ). After a short stint as on-air host at San Diego's 94.9 KBZT, Jackie landed the opportunity she had been working toward since her early WSOU days: host and producer of her own (and L.A.'s only) commercial heavy metal radio show, "Chaos", on Indie 103.1. Today, Full Metal Jackie's show can be heard in syndicated markets throughout the United States.
