Switzerland's GURD, the band formed out of the ashes of the power-thrash metal legends POLTERGEIST, have announced the addition of guitarist Pat (ex-ACID, CRIONICS, EVEREVE) to the group's ranks. Pat is "26 years old and is based in Weil am Rhein, Germany," the band write on their web site. "He will spit out the mighty riffs from next year on. We're very exited to destroy the stages and record the next killer album together with him."
In other news, GURD are putting the finishing touches on their live CD/DVD recorded at their 10th anniversary show on May 1, 2004 at Z7 in Pratteln, Switzerland. "We are currently looking for a label, which will bring this excellent piece to the people," the band write on their web site. An early 2005 release is expected.
Also on the GURD-related front, guitarist Spring will play his final shows with the group in December. "Everyone who wants to take the opportunity and give him a last cheer while he's on stage with GURD should mark the 4th (Endstation in Winterthur, Switzerland) or the 22nd (Bern in Wasserwerk, Switzerland) of December in his calendar!!!" the band write.
