GUNS N' ROSES Bassist Begins Mixing Solo Album

January 27, 2004

GUNS N' ROSES bassist Tommy Stinson has posted the following message on his web site:

"Yeah me!!! I started mixing today!!! Mr. Sean Beaven (GUNS N' ROSES, MARILYN MANSON, NIN, NO DOUBT) is at the controls doing me the honors. With a little luck it should take about two weeks or so. Good thing too because I want to get on with it. Whatever it entails.

"Went to three great shows this last week I thought worthy of props and cudo's. First, at Spaceland my least favorite venue was a band from Seattle called VISQUEEN. They rocked!!! Three piece punk/pop with an awesome lead singer. Best female singer/guitar player I've heard in forever.

"Again at Spaceland, BOBOT ADRENALINE. Yep, went back to Spaceland another night for more. They were fourth on a bill of mostly not so great bands. They sound like a mix of CLASH, BUZZCOCKS, COSTELLO, etc. Politics being the subject, they attack, ridicule all that fun stuff. Keep your ears and eyes peeled for them as it's sure to be an event you'll wish you hadn't missed.

"Lastly, THE DEVICS at Tangiers. There wasn't a dry eye in the house when they were done. Can't do them justice by trying to describe them except to say that it was very beautiful, emotional - similar to Geraldine Fibbers, Nick Cave, MAZZY STAR, even a little COCTEAU TWINS. Completely killed me. That's all I got for now.

"Give you updates as they come along. Maybe some photos from the mixing sessions."
