Guitarist JOHN SLATER To Sit Out BLAZE's European Tour

April 20, 2004

BLAZE guitarist John Slater will be sitting out the band's upcoming European tour for "personal reasons," according to a posting on the band's official web site. Filling in for him on the trek will be DORO axeman Oliver Palotai.

The following is Slater's official statement on the matter:

"As you may have heard by now, I will not be joining Blaze, Steve and Wayne on the road this time round for personal reasons. I have not lost faith or fallen out with anyone within the BLAZE camp and will hopefully be back in the fold very soon. 'Blood and Belief' is probably my proudest moment so I can't begin to describe to you how I feel about not doing this. I'm certain that the band will continue to burst your ear drums and give you a night to remember! I hope you love the new stuff and the old stuff of course and I would like to wish Oliver Palotai all the best. I'm sure they'll love every minute of it! - I know I won't : )

"Thanks for the support and go get 'em guys!"

BLAZE's current touring lineup is as follows:

Blaze Bayley - Vocals
Steve Wray - Guitar
Oliver Palotai (DORO) - Guitar
Wayne Banks - Bass
Dave "Kite" Knight - Drums
