GRAVE DIGGER Performs First Show With DOMAIN Guitarist

October 29, 2009

German heavy metal veterans GRAVE DIGGER, who recently tapped DOMAIN's Axel Ritt to handle the guitar duties for the band on their upcoming live shows, have issued the following update:

"Last Saturday [October 24], we played our first concert with Axel Ritt, in Gladbeck, Germany. It was really a great show. Axel gave his best with a good stage [performance] and also some really good guitar playing. We had a lot of fun and were able to forget about all the negative things that happened during the last few weeks. We returned to the most important point for us: To rock for you on stage!

"From now until December 13, we are searching for the best and most beautiful GRAVE DIGGER tattoo. Send us a photo of your tattoo and we will show it on our website in the 'Fans-Tattoos' section. Then we will choose the three best ones. First prize will be a meet-and-greet with the band on December 19 in Langen, Germany when we play there in the Stadthalle. Second prize will be a personal Clan t-shirt and the third prize will be a Hangman patch.

"Send your photos with name, adress and e-mail to: [email protected].

"Of course, all photos will remain on our website after the end of the contest.

"The winners will be informed on December 15. So get ready and send us your photos."

GRAVE DIGGER mastermind Chris Boltendahl and Ritt have known each other for about two decades, but this is the first time they are performing together in the same band.

Upcoming GRAVE DIGGER shows:

Nov. 20 - Siara Hall - Fortaleza, Brazil
Nov. 21 - Carioca Club - Sao Paulo, Brazil
Dec. 18 - Christmas Metal Meeting - Outback - Bad Arolsen, Germany
Dec. 19 - Christmas Metal Meeting - Stadthalle - Langen, Germany

GRAVE DIGGER parted ways with guitarist Manni Schmidt earlier this month due to disagreements between Manni and Boltendahl.

"Ballads Of A Hangman", the latest album from GRAVE DIGGER, registered the following first-week chart positions:

Germany: #31
Austria: #78
Switzerland: #81

The CD was released on January 9 via Austria's Napalm Records.
