GODSMACK Singer Says 'Speak' Is Perfect Intro To New Album

April 17, 2006

Launch Radio Networks reports: The members of GODSMACK say that their upcoming album, "IV" (Four),finds the band expanding its sound and pushing in new musical directions. That's why lead singer Sully Erna told Launch that the CD's first single, "Speak" (video),is a perfect introduction to what the group has in store. "It was a great happy medium between the expansion of what we thought this record was gonna come out to be, and it was just a perfect first single," he said. "It didn't veer too much off, but yet it was still a bit broader from what we've written in the past. So it was a nice way to slide them into, like, 'Hey, GODSMACK's back, this is the new record, like, start paying attention 'cause here it comes.'"

"IV" arrives on April 25.

GODSMACK will begin a Canadian tour on June 10, followed by trips to Japan and Australia in July. The band doesn't plan to tour the U.S. until September, with dates expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

GODSMACK will be the musical guests on the April 26 edition of NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", and will follow that with an April 28 performance on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"
