GODSMACK's Cover Of JOE WALSH's 'Rocky Mountain Way' Available For Streaming

April 5, 2012

GODSMACK's cover of JOE WALSH's "Rocky Mountain Way" can be streamed at Banana1015.com. The song will be featured on GODSMACK's first-ever concert album, "Live And Inspired", which will also contain a bonus disc of four newly recorded cover songs. According to Loudwire, the disc will contain 13 tunes that were all recorded at a single show at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit on the quartet's last tour. Singer Sully Erna told the site, "We were going to do a compilation with this song from Vegas, this song is from Chicago, this one is from Dallas, but I don't know, the more we listened to the Detroit show, the more we kind of figured out that it was a really good show for us."

Erna also said that GODSMACK has nothing but love for the Motor City, explaining, "It's always a great audience, as any rock band will tell you. Playing there is a special kind of fanbase that they have there, they live up to their reputation. They're a great rock audience."

The Pulse Of Radio asked Erna if GODSMACK would ever consider doing what a lot of acts have been doing lately and playing one or more of their five studio albums from front to back in concert. "It seems like a lot of bands would come out and do that when they're celebrating like their 25th anniversary on the record and stuff (laughs) — I'm old, but we're not that old yet," he said. "We're getting there, though. It's not gonna be but another minute before we go like, 'Wow, really, 20 years? Okay. . . '"

GODSMACK and STAIND will begin a co-headlining run of live dates, called the Mass Chaos Tour, on April 13 in Augusta, Georgia. The bill also features HALESTORM.

Erna himself played some solo dates at the end of March and in early April to promote "Avalon Live", his upcoming live DVD/Blu-ray that features the singer and an eight-piece band performing songs from his 2010 solo debut, "Avalon".
