GODSMACK Plays At Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

August 7, 2007

The Pulse of Radio (formerly Launch Radio Networks) reports: GODSMACK makes a pit stop on Tuesday (August 7) at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota, the gigantic biker's get-together held nearly every year since 1938. The week-long event hosts racing, stunts, demonstrations and concerts throughout the week, with GODSMACK headlining Tuesday's show over Fuel and other acts. GODSMACK singer Sully Erna, a bike enthusiast himself, is looking forward to a huge day. "It's the Cadillac of all events, man," he said. "It's loud, rowdy bikers and engines and exhaust pipes and GODSMACK and we're really proud to be headlining it. We decided to put on a spectacle. We brought a pyro show that people aren't gonna believe. I mean, I think we reserved $10,000 just to do a fireworks show at the end of the show. So it's gonna be, like, a really killer event."

GODSMACK will utilize 19 cameras to film Tuesday's show for a live DVD that will be released in conjunction with a greatest hits set later this year.

The band might do some special acoustic shows this fall to commemorate its 10th anniversary.

In addition to the greatest hits set, the group may issue a 10th anniversary box set containing all four of its albums along with its acoustic EP, "The Other Side".

ANOTHER ANIMAL, the side project featuring the other three members of GODSMACK, will release its self-titled debut CD on October 2.
