GODHEAD: Original Drummer Rejoins The Fold

December 2, 2003

GODHEAD have been rejoined by original drummer James O'Connor following the departure of ex-STATIC-X skinsman Ken Jay.

The band were forced to cancel a European tour due to Ken's illness. Now Ken has made the departure definite and permanent, so the band have been looking for a replacement. According to frontman Jason Miller, "We all agreed that the most logical choice was James."

O'Connor had been with the band through three albums, and after years of touring, it was mutually agreed upon that they needed a break. "It wasn't something big or dramatic," O'Connor explains, "and there were never hard feelings. It was something we all agreed on. We've stayed in touch ever since."

During his two-year hiatus from the band, O'Connor has been in Los Angeles playing with other groups ("…no one on a caliber with GODHEAD, though…") and pursuing an acting career. Method, GODHEAD bassist and programmer, explains: "After the time apart, we feel like we're closer than ever. We've all grown as individuals."

"As soon as it was clear that Ken couldn't commit to us for the long-term," explains Miller, "James was the first person that came to mind. We auditioned a few others, but all along the rest of us were thinking we should just call James."

GODHEAD are currently supporting their most recent release, "Evolver", on Reality Entertainment.
