GOD FORBID: Rare Alternate Version Of 'End Of The World' Unearthed

September 20, 2008

Guitarist Doc Coyle of the New Jersey metal titans GOD FORBID has posted the following message on the band's MySpace page:

"Doc here with a little fun nugget of metal for you guys. I'm looking through a box of CDs that aren't labeled, and checking them out to see what they are. I end up finding a CD of a version of the track 'End Of The World' with an intro made by producer Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, DEVILDRIVER, ALL THAT REMAINS) who produced the guitars and vocals for 'Constitution Of Treason'. What happened was we really liked this intro, but wanted to make a couple changes to make it exactly what we wanted to be, but couldn't get the files in time because he was working on a another project. So we had to take from his intro what we could, and make a new intro out of it. I think it turned out really good in the end, but his is pretty awesome, especially the electronica drums he adds near the end. Props to the mad genius, Jay Suecof."

You can stream the track below.

GOD FORBID recently posted (and subsequently removed) a new track, "Empire of the Gun", on the band's MySpace page. The song comes off the group's new album, which is scheduled for a February 2009 release via Century Media Records. The CD was produced by Eric Rachel (ATREYU) with Christian Olde Wolbers (FEAR FACTORY, THREAT SIGNAL) handling all vocal tracking.

Video footage of GOD FORBID performing a new, as-yet-untitled track off the group's upcoming CD can be viewed below (courtesy of Metal Injection via Metal Nick). The clip was shot at the Baltimore, Maryland stop of the band's recent In Thrash We Trust tour, also featuring DEATH ANGEL, SOILENT GREEN and LIGHT THIS CITY.
